My Last Tour
Today I gave the last tour of the Capitol to a very large group of constituents. They had some awesome questions for me and were really involved with the tour which always makes me happy. Nicole brought me some lunch and we had fun with the confusion in the office with the twin thing. After work Nicole and I grabbed some food and headed over to the opening day of the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. We walked around the tidal basin to the Jefferson Monument and then to FDR thinking that we would be able to continue right around to the MLK but they were sending traffic all the way around to the front of the Monument so we had a lot longer walk than expected. The new monument looked amazing as we arrived just as the sun was setting and the lights were turning on. The area was crowded but I was able to get pictures of all quotes that surrounded the large statute of MLK in the center. We stayed at the monument for awhile and headed back to the metro when mosquitoes started coming out.
