Sister Arrives!!

Today the start of the family trickling out here for a little vacation started with Nicole flying up from Atlanta after finishing her internship yesterday. She made it on to an earlier flight so we were able to do a little sightseeing after dinner in downtown. We thought a little walk down to the National Mall would be a fun idea but once we got down there we knew we had to keep going all the way over the monuments which were beautifully lit now that the sun had set. We walked over to the Washington Monument hopeful that they might have a few tickets left to go up since there didn’t look to be too many people, however, they were already out for the night. We also walked over to the WWII Memorial which looks amazing at night because the fountain at the center looks like it is glowing. The rest of the monuments were too far for our tiered feet so we headed to the closest metro station to go home for the night.
